Cosy Corner / Swimcart Beach

Cosy Corner / Swimcart Beach

Bay of Fires Conservation Area, Tasmania

A late summer sunrise at Swimcart Beach

This shot was taken at around 6am during February at the pristine beaches of the Bay of Fires Conservation Area.

The foreground shows the beautiful granite boulders that contrast so well with thewhite sand and turquoise waters.

Careful composition positions the boulders in such a way to draw the eye into the image and towards the horizon as it is being illuminated by the rising sun.

The sky features soft pastels and just enough clouds to add interest without distracting.

The technique of using long exposures smooths the water to simplify the details and creates a calm scene.
