Located on the northern side of the Grampians National Park, Mackenzie Falls is easy to access with a short but steep decline into the valley. The facilities are plentiful and access to the falls featured a number of stairs with plenty of locations to view the area. I arrived for sunrise on a Saturday in mid July (winter), I was expecting crowds however the first small group arrived at about 9am. Being in quite a deep valley, it was relatively dark first thing in the morning – which made taking some silky smooth longer exposure shots without the use of an ND filter very easy. During the walk down I was greeted by a variety of local native animals, a couple of emus found interest in my coffee making facilities and wallabies were everywhere.
