Gibsons Steps

'"Gog & Magog" at Port Campbell National Park

It was the January long weekend, the weather was perfect and I was heading back to the Grampians after spending a few nights down on the Great Ocean Road. I decided to head down to Gibsons Steps and the place was packed. It is a beautiful section of the Great Ocean Walk. To avoid the crowds in the photographs, I decided to focus on longer exposures shots that would effectively blur out any people that happened to walk into the frame. I also love the effect that long exposures have with water, the sea really was quite rough. The combination of rough sea and perfect blue sky can add drama to a scene however a long exposure shot, simplifies the scene and highlights the subject, in this case Gog and Magog!
